Oh Happy, Happy Day! Steven has been saving his ONE phone call for FATHERS DAY! Shane couldn't stop smiling, the best Father's Day gift ever.
I know he has been gone for only six days but not being able to talk to him anytime we want is torture!
He sounds sooooo good! He was with his buddies when he called (figures) but you could hear shear happiness in his voice. He says he LOVES it so far, except for the “birth control” glasses [he can’t wear his contacts until after Basic Combat Training is over]. His hair is gone and he is sporting his fatigues. You know he is a super cutie.
Double checked with him and he confirms……still not able to write to him or send him any packages. His only prevailing comments were about the glasses and one other thing……..Steven said, “Mom, they took my gum.”
Steven said to tell everyone hi and he loves them and not to worry about him because all is well. He did say he missed us too, a little because it has only been a week! lol

Oh I know you guys are on cloud nine right now. And Kat you are right I bet Shane is smiling from ear to ear, Steven saving his call for Father's Day now how can you compete with that? Well I will tell you how you're Mom and with that title there is no competition.LOL!!! So happy now I can have a peaceful night sleep. No I wasn"t worried just concerned. huh?
Steven as the weeks progress you will be as proud of you as we are. This is a brave you are doing along with the guys you are doing it with. God Bless You All for your committment for all of us here at home.

hey steven,just wanted to let you know,we're having devon's birthday tonight.I did give him the van his mom used to have.so he's happy with that.we all wish you lots of luck with every thing you do.sure am one proud mamaw of you.have you got you schooling over?if not it won't take long.i will be gald when you get to come in again.patty is giving a b-b-q for his b-day.wish you were here.done get to see you mom and dad or corey much.miss them also.well i'll write soon more later.love you your mamaw
